Door dings and car park dents removed — paintless where the paint is intact, filled and resprayed where it is not.
Why book with us
Dent Removal & PDR with clear advice.
A dent is annoying out of all proportion to its size. Someone opens a door onto your wing in a supermarket car park, a trolley rolls into your rear quarter, a stone comes off a lorry — and suddenly a car you keep clean has a dish in the panel that catches your eye every time you walk up to it. Urban Autohaus removes dents at our West Bromwich workshop, and the first thing we do is work out which of two very different repairs your car actually needs.
Where the paint surface is unbroken, the dent can often be worked out from behind using paintless dent removal — PDR. The panel is massaged back to shape with specialist rods and the original factory paint is never disturbed, which is both cheaper and better for the car than any repaint. Where the paint has cracked, chipped or been pushed through, PDR is not an option and the panel needs filling, priming and blending in our spray booth. We tell you which one applies before you commit to anything. Call 07498 392333.
Paintless where possible
If the paint is intact we work the dent out from behind — your original factory finish stays untouched.
Honest assessment first
We tell you whether it is a PDR job or a fill-and-respray, and price both, before you decide.
Sharp creases handled too
Creased and stretched panels beyond PDR go through the full bodywork process in our own booth.

Dents we take out
Clear expectations, no surprises. If anything extra is needed, we explain it first.
- Door dings and edge dents from car park knocks.
- Round dents in wings, doors and rear quarters from trolleys and stray footballs.
- Bonnet and roof dents including light hail damage.
- Creased and sharp-edged dents that PDR cannot reach, repaired conventionally.
- Dents on swage lines and panel edges, where access from behind is limited.
- Dent repair combined with scratch or scuff work on the same panel in one visit.

Common questions
- What is paintless dent removal and is my dent suitable?
- Paintless dent removal, or PDR, is the technique of pushing a dent back out from behind the panel using specialist rods, so no filler or paint is needed at all. It works when the paint surface is unbroken and the metal has not been stretched or sharply creased. Round, smooth dents in an accessible part of a panel are ideal. If your paint has cracked or chipped, PDR will not fix it and we would repair it conventionally instead — we tell you which applies when we see the car.
- How much does dent removal cost?
- A single small PDR dent is one of the cheapest bodywork repairs there is, because there is no paint, no materials and no drying time involved. Cost rises with the size of the dent, how awkward the panel is to reach from behind, and whether paintwork is involved. We look at it, tell you which repair method it needs and give you a written price before starting — no obligation.
- How long does it take?
- A straightforward PDR dent can often be done the same day, sometimes while you wait. A dent that needs filling, priming, painting and lacquering takes longer because each stage has to cure properly — typically one to three days depending on the panel. We give you a realistic timeframe with the quote.
- Will PDR damage my paintwork?
- No — done correctly that is the entire point of it. The panel is worked from the reverse side and the outer paint surface is never touched, which is why the repair keeps your original factory finish. Retaining factory paint is genuinely worth something on a newer car, and it is why we always check whether PDR is viable before suggesting anything that involves a respray.
- Can you repair hail damage?
- Light hail damage across a bonnet or roof is one of the classic PDR jobs, since hail dents are usually shallow and the paint is intact. Heavier hail that has cracked the paint or stretched the metal needs conventional repair. Bring the car in and we will assess panel by panel — often a car will need PDR on some panels and paintwork on others, and we would quote it that way.
