Why book with us
Vauxhall Vivaro Servicing & Repairs West Bromwich with clear advice.
The Vivaro has been one of Britain's best-selling mid-size vans for over twenty years, and we see plenty of them in West Bromwich. We work on all three generations, plus the bigger Movano and the small Combo. That covers servicing, diagnostics, clutches, brakes, suspension and emissions repairs. We know a van stood in the yard is a day's work lost, so we keep you informed from the start.
The Vivaro usually takes a Class 4 MOT. The larger Movano is mostly plated at 3,500kg, which puts it in Class 7. A lot of garages only test up to 3,000kg, but we are a DVSA testing station, site S004609, authorised for both Class 4 and Class 7. So every Vauxhall van in your fleet can be tested here, and any repair work done under the same roof.
Each Vivaro generation has its own habits. The first model, built alongside the Renault Trafic, is known for gearbox bearing noise on the 1.9 diesel and clutch and flywheel wear on the 2.0. The second generation's 1.6 diesels can block their particulate filters on short runs. The latest Vivaro, built on the Peugeot and Citroen platform, is known for AdBlue tank and pump trouble.
We start by finding out what is actually wrong. We read the codes, check the van and test the likely parts. Then we call you with a clear price and tell you what is urgent and what can wait. Nothing is done without your agreement. If your van is racked out or ply-lined, mention it when you book so we can plan the job properly.
We are on Cornwallis Road, West Bromwich, B70 9BY, handy for Oldbury, Wednesbury and Great Bridge. We have looked after local vehicles for more than seven years and hold a 4.9 star rating on Google. Fail an MOT with us and the retest within 10 working days is free. We are open Monday to Saturday, 9:00 to 5:30. Call us on 07498 392333 to book in.

Common questions
- Can you MOT my Vivaro and my Movano?
- Yes. Most Vivaros are under 3,000kg and take a Class 4 MOT. Most Movanos are plated at 3,500kg and need a Class 7 MOT. We are authorised for both at our West Bromwich testing station, site S004609, so you can bring all your Vauxhall vans to one place.
- My Vivaro whines from the gearbox. Is that serious?
- A whine or rumble that rises with road speed is often a worn gearbox bearing, which is a known issue on first-generation 1.9 diesel Vivaros. Wheel bearings can sound similar. We road test the van and check it on the ramp to find the source. Catching a bearing early can stop more damage inside the gearbox.
- My new-shape Vivaro has an AdBlue warning. What does it mean?
- The latest Vivaro shares its AdBlue system with Peugeot and Citroen vans, and the tank and pump unit is a known weak point. If a top-up does not clear the warning, the system needs testing before the countdown reaches zero and the van will not start. We diagnose it and tell you what has failed.
- Will an independent service affect my Vivaro warranty?
- No. UK block exemption rules let you have a van serviced away from the dealer without affecting the manufacturer's warranty, as long as the schedule is followed and the parts and oils meet the right specification. We use the correct grades for your engine and record the work so your service history stays complete.
- Why does my Vivaro keep showing a DPF light?
- Particulate filters clean themselves on longer, faster runs. Vans that spend their day on short trips around town often never get hot enough, so the filter fills up. A sensor fault can also trigger the light. We check soot levels and sensor readings and then advise a regeneration, clean or replacement.
- How often should I service my Vivaro?
- It depends on the generation and engine, and some use a service indicator. For a working van, a service at least once a year or at the manufacturer's mileage, whichever comes first, is a good rule. Give us your registration and we will check the right schedule.
- Can I get an MOT and service in one visit?
- Yes. Doing both together means your van is only off the road once. If the MOT finds anything, we ring you with a price before we do the work. If it fails with us, the retest within 10 working days is free.
- Do you work on Vivaro Crew Cabs and Sportive models?
- Yes. Crew Cabs, Sportives and Life passenger versions share the same engines, gearboxes and running gear as the panel van. We service and repair them in the same way and can MOT them here in West Bromwich. Passenger versions get the same quote-first approach as the panel vans.
- How do I book my Vauxhall van in?
- Call us on 07498 392333 or book online. We are on Cornwallis Road, West Bromwich, B70 9BY, and open Monday to Saturday, 9:00 to 5:30. Tell us the registration and what the van is doing, and we will find a slot that suits you.
