Why book with us

Citroën Van Servicing & Repairs West Bromwich with clear advice.

Citroën vans are everywhere in Sandwell, from the Berlingo that carries a tradesperson's tools to the Dispatch and the big Relay used for deliveries, building work and removals. We service and repair all of them at our West Bromwich workshop. That covers diagnostics, clutches, brakes, suspension, steering and emissions faults. We know a van stuck in the workshop is a van not earning, so we keep you updated throughout.

The Relay is normally plated at 3,500kg and needs a Class 7 MOT. Plenty of garages only test up to 3,000kg, which leaves Relay owners searching for somewhere that can. We are a DVSA testing station, site S004609, authorised for both Class 4 and Class 7. Berlingos and Dispatches go through Class 4, Relays through Class 7, all under one roof.

Citroën vans share their engines with Peugeot, so the same faults turn up. BlueHDi vans are known for AdBlue tank and pump trouble that sets off a countdown to a no-start. Older Berlingos with the 1.6 HDi can use an additive-type particulate filter that needs its fluid topped up, and their turbos can fail if the oil feed gets restricted. Relays often wear clutches and flywheels.

We always diagnose before we quote. We read the codes, check the van over and test the parts we suspect. Then we phone you with a clear price, tell you what needs doing now and what can wait, and only start once you agree. If your Citroën is racked out or converted, let us know when you book so we can plan around it.

Our workshop is on Cornwallis Road, West Bromwich, B70 9BY, close to Tipton, Smethwick and Great Bridge. We have looked after local vehicles for more than seven years and are rated 4.9 stars on Google. Fail an MOT with us and the retest within 10 working days is free. We are open Monday to Saturday, 9:00 to 5:30. Call us on 07498 392333 to book in.

Common questions

Can you MOT a Citroën Relay?
Yes. Most Relays are plated at 3,500kg and need a Class 7 MOT, which we are authorised to carry out at our West Bromwich testing station, site S004609. Berlingos and Dispatches are usually under 3,000kg and take a Class 4 MOT, which we also do. Your V5C or weight plate shows the class.
Why does my Berlingo keep showing an AdBlue warning?
Newer BlueHDi Berlingos use AdBlue, and the tank and pump unit is a known weak point. A failed sensor or heater can also cause the warning. If topping up has not cleared it, book in before the countdown ends and the van will not start. We test the system and tell you what has failed.
My older Berlingo has a DPF warning. Does it need a new filter?
Not always. Many older 1.6 HDi Berlingos use an additive tank to help the filter burn off soot, and when the additive runs low the warning comes on. We check the additive level, soot load and sensors, then advise a refill, a regeneration, a clean or a new filter.
Will an independent service affect my Citroën warranty?
No. UK block exemption rules let you have a van serviced away from the dealer without affecting the manufacturer's warranty, as long as the schedule is followed and the parts and oils meet the right specification. We use the correct grades for your engine and record the work so your service history stays complete.
How can I tell if my Relay's clutch is going?
Common signs are revs rising without the van picking up speed, a judder pulling away, a high biting point or a rattle at idle that quietens when you press the pedal. The rattle often means the dual-mass flywheel is worn. We check both and quote before starting.
How often should my Citroën van be serviced?
For a working van, at least once a year or at Citroën's mileage interval, whichever comes first, is a good rule. Short-trip and heavy-load use can call for more frequent oil changes. Give us your registration and we will confirm the right schedule.
Can I get an MOT and service done together?
Yes. Doing both in one visit means your van is only off the road once. If the MOT finds anything, we ring you with a price before doing the work. If it fails with us, the retest within 10 working days is free.
Do you work on Relay tippers, dropsides and Lutons?
Yes. They use the same engines, gearboxes and running gear as the Relay panel van, so we service and repair them the same way. Most are plated at 3,500kg and need a Class 7 MOT, which we carry out in West Bromwich.
Where are you and how do I book?
We are on Cornwallis Road, West Bromwich, B70 9BY, and see vans from across Sandwell, Birmingham, Dudley and the Black Country. Call 07498 392333 or book online. We are open Monday to Saturday, 9:00 to 5:30, and closed on Sundays.
